Mike Kilgore receiving an award for JAG program

The 2022 Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Summer Training Institute was a great experience. After 2 years of establishing the JAG program at Malden Schools, I had the opportunity to hold 2 presentations for 29 new JAG Specialists entering the 2022-2023 school year.

I want to thank all of the Class of 2021

JAG seniors for being able to be contacted during our 12-Month Follow-Up and for earning Malden High JAG high praise for being able to contact all seniors after graduation!!!

I also had the opportunity to learn about the man responsible for bringing JAG to the state of Missouri, the late Mr. James H. Buford. Mr. Buford has an award honoring his accomplishments and service and Malden High School was 1 of 3 winners out of the entire state to win the award. Mrs. Susan Buford, the wife of Mr. Buford, presented the award and provided a $300 check to the Malden High School JAG program. This was not an award presented to an individual, it was presented to the students, school, and community members that make our JAG-MALDEN program successful!!!

I am thankful to my students, Malden Schools, and the community for accepting our JAG program. Heading into Year 3, we are continuing to build the program and students differently because we do things that help our students focus on becoming productive citizens.
