Malden Green Wave Marching Band went to Park Hills and competed in the 36th Annual Rebel Invitational Marching Band Competition. They won 2nd place in their class for preliminary field competition.
Last Saturday, they competed in the SEMOBA Sikeston Marching Competition and won 3rd place in their class.
Director Hammond is very proud of her students. She said they have been coming to school almost every Monday and rehearsing from 12-4. They have performed at every home football game and this is the first time in 3 years they have competed in a marching competition. They have been working SO hard and she is very proud of them.
She went on to say, “We may be small but we are trying our very best and it is showing. We only lost 1st place today by 5 points.”
