Important Update: New Policy on Student Cell Phone Use (Effective 2025–26 School Year)
Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, all Missouri school districts are required to adopt a written policy regarding students’ use and possession of personal electronic communication devices (such as cell phones, smartwatches, and tablets).
This new policy is aimed at promoting student learning and supporting a safe, focused environment for both staff and students.
📵 What You Need to Know:
Device use will be prohibited for students during the entire school day — including class time, lunch, breaks, passing periods, and study halls. There will be some exceptions for those with specific educational or health needs (IEPs or 504 plans) or in the event of an emergency.
✅ The full policy will be posted on our district website before the start of the school year.
💬 Please talk with your student about this upcoming change and why it matters. Our goal is to reduce distractions, improve learning, and create a healthier school environment for everyone.
Thank you for your support as we implement this state-mandated change.
