📸 Picture Day is coming to Malden Elementary!

Cheekwood Studio will be here to photograph elementary students on Thursday, September 3. No money is needed on Picture Day.

A few days after Picture Day, families will receive an email link to view and order photos online. You’ll also be able to choose your package and background color and share the link with family and friends.

The Malden R-I School District is proud to partner with local agencies and community leaders to strengthen the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

A special thank you to Sgt. Vannada with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for providing our staff with valuable intruder response training.

We also appreciate Chuck Groshong with Air Evac 3 in Sikeston and Jeff Rowe with Air Evac 24 in Poplar Bluff for providing our staff with Stop the Bleed training. Thank you as well for the generous donation of a bleeding control kit and tourniquets—and for the Crumbl Cookies!

Finally, thank you to Dunklin County Juvenile Officer Ashley Fowler and Dunklin County Sheriff Nick Darter for speaking with our students in grades 6–12 about the importance of making good decisions, both in and out of school.

Please carefully review the verification form, make any necessary corrections directly on the sheet, and return it to the high school office.

The nurse’s form must also be completed and returned. Please remember that over-the-counter medications—including Tylenol, Tums, and similar medicines—cannot be given at school until the completed nurse’s form is on file.

Instead of printing programs for each game or match, we will provide a QR code for people to scan to view the current game roster. We will include the visiting team's roster once we receive it.

👕 Fields of Faith shirts are available for $15! Order by Friday, September 11, so you’ll have yours for the event.

T-shirt sales directly support SEMO FCA. The Venmo account listed on the order form belongs to SEMO FCA, and all shirt proceeds are separate from the Malden R-I School District.

💚💛PK Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures💚💛 Pull onto Burkhart facing east and stay in your vehicle. Cars need to line up in the gravel. Staff will help your PK child at pick-up and drop-off at the Early Childhood door. 💚💛K-5 Drop-Off Procedures at Elem. Gym Doors💚💛 Please remain in your vehicle while using the drop-off lane. If your child needs assistance getting out of the car, it is best to park in the parking lot. For safety reasons, please have your child exit the vehicle on the passenger side. Ensure that your child is on the sidewalk before driving away. Students may get out of the vehicle on the passenger side while the line is stopped and walk up the sidewalk to the entrance; they do not need to wait until the vehicle reaches the gym doors. If you prefer not to use the drop-off lane, you are welcome to park and walk your children to the gym doors. If you do not wish to use the drop-off lane, you are welcome to use the parking lot and walk your children to the sidewalk. 💚💛K-5 Pick Up Procedures at Elem. Gym Doors💚💛 The gold “M” on the lane is for all K-2 students. The green “M” is for 3-5 students. If you have a child in both, then you may get into either lane. We will bring your students to you. Pick up is the same as drop off. Everyone must remain in their vehicle in the lanes. If you would prefer to get your child, please park in the parking lot and walk to the doors. Please do not park in the street, walk across the grass, or enter into the moving traffic lanes to pick up your child.

📣 Little Ripples Cheer Camp is coming! 💚💛 The Malden HS & JH Cheerleaders are excited to host Little Ripples Cheer Camp for students in grades K–5! 📅 September 14 📣 K–2nd Grade: 5–6 PM 📣 3rd–5th Grade: 6–7 PM 💵 $35 per camper Campers will learn cheerleading fundamentals and a routine they’ll perform during halftime of the Homecoming Game on September 18! Each camper will also receive a T-shirt to wear that night. 📝 Registration deadline: Wednesday, September 2 Forms will be sent home during the first week of school. We can’t wait to see our Little Ripples cheering on the Green Wave! 🌊💚💛
